BOVINE REQUIREMENTS
The cattle must be accompanied by the necessary Veterinary Health Certificate issued by the Veterinary Authority certifying that:
- The country from which the cattle were exported has been free from Foot and Mouth Disease, Contagious pleuro-pneumonia, Vesicular Stomatitis, Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy and all other prescribed or infectious diseases.
- The cattle are physically sound and in good health and free from symptoms of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), Bovine tuberculosis, Bovine cysticercosis, Dermatophilosis, Enzootic bovine leukosis, Haemorrhagic septicaemia, Infectious Bovine Rhino-tracheitis (IBR), Malignant catarrhal fever or other OIE prescribed infectious and contagious disease of the species or
- The cattle have been subjected, with negative reaction to an intra-dermal tuberculin test with internationally approved antigens, during the period of thirty (30) days immediately prior to the date of the exportation of the cattle; and
- The cattle have been subjected, with negative reactions to serum agglutination test for brucellosis with internationally approved antigen, during the period of thirty (30) days prior to the date the exportation of the cattle and must be from a certified brucellosis free herd.
- A certificate of origin must be provided from that country of export.
- Two (2) days preceding export the cattle should be given intramuscular injections of a recommend dose of long-acting, broad-spectrum antibiotic.
- The animals were treated for endo-and-ecto-parasites during the seventy two (72) hours preceding export.
This permit is valid for three (3) months(single entry) from the date thereof.
