Government launches PTCCB online licensing platform

As the government advances digitisation and continues to modernise public service delivery, the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB) launched its digital Licensing and Registration Service (LRS) to improve efficiency and accessibility for stakeholders nationwide.

The online platform represents a significant step in the country’s digital transformation agenda, providing a faster, more streamlined approach to managing licensing and registration processes for pesticides and toxic chemicals.

Through the system, users can now register products, apply for licences, and track the status of their applications in real time.

This new window also enables citizens to receive timely notifications and access records from anywhere, reducing the need for in-person visits and lengthy processing times.

The initiative is expected to enhance service delivery for businesses, importers, and other stakeholders, while strengthening regulatory oversight in the handling and distribution of hazardous substances.

Meanwhile, PTCCB noted that the platform reflects its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder-focused services, while supporting compliance with national regulations and a safer Guyana.

The move aligns with broader government efforts to digitise services across sectors, improving ease of doing business and ensuring critical regulatory systems are more responsive to the public’s needs.

Stakeholders can access the platform via the PTCCB website, where additional resources, including user manuals and tutorial videos, are also available to guide users through the system.

The People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Administration unveiled its landmark “Digital Guyana” strategy, a sweeping plan to modernise government services, strengthen data security, and create a smarter, more connected Guyana.

President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali highlighted these key initiatives in August 2025, all of which aim to make Guyana a modern, technology-focused society prioritising innovation and inclusion in development.

At the core of this initiative is the citizen portal, a one-stop digital platform to provide Guyanese with seamless access to key government services.

This includes passport and licence applications, paying bills, tax filings, health and education records, all accessible via web and mobile devices. This reduces time, costs, and bureaucracy, improving efficiency while building transparency.
