The Ministry of Agriculture has provided assistance to flood affected farmers of Moraikobai, Region Five.
On Wednesday, a team comprising Extension Officers of the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) and Guyana Livestock Development Authority (GLDA) distributed the supplies to the farmers.
Tomato, hot pepper, sweet pepper and pak choi seedlings, as well as chemicals, were part of the relief package. The team also visited a number of cash crop and livestock farms and offered advice to farmers.
The Ministry is of the view that the assistance would help to reduce some of the challenges being faced by the farmers at this difficult time.
