IMPORTATION PROCEDURE – ANIMAL PRODUCTS (Fresh, frozen, processed)
- An application for trade import license is filled by the prospective importer. This will specify name of importer, country of origin of product and name and address of exporter, product type and quantity.
- The Guyana Livestock Development Authority is required to give its approval to this import by way of a no objection.
- A no objection is also required to be given by Public Health Department or Government Analyst Food and Drug Department, Ministry of Health who has the responsibility for regulating the importation of the animal product in question. (depends on the type of product imported)
