The Food Safety Act of 2019 makes provision for the formation of a Guyana Food Safety Authority and aims to “protect the health and wellbeing of consumers by promoting and ensuring food safety along the food chain through an integrated and coordinated approach and to provide for connected matters”.
The overall objective is to develop a website for the Guyana Food Safety Authority that will be a primary conduit for the dissemination of information from the Guyana Food Safety Authority to its stakeholders. The website is expected to allow the Guyana Food Safety Authority to connect with its stakeholders for the delivery of information and also for the receipt of feedback.
The Ministry of Agriculture now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services (description of similar assignments, contracts and contracts amounts, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
Minimum shortlisting criteria are:
Qualification: Certificate or diploma in Computer Science or Computer System Engineering from a reputable institution.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in website development services. The Consultant must have developed at least one (1) website that is currently functional, and have experience in developing in common and widely-used open source platforms.
